I stood amidst the polar night, at the end of the earth.
The cold air was biting my neck, but nevertheless I wished to remain here forever, to gaze at the ever-changing landscape of water and sky, as snow and ice blocks carried by the waves collided against each other, spraying the frozen beach with myriads of tiny droplets.
In a brilliant move, I decided to reach the end of the earth and walk towards the point where the fluttering, flowing snow banks reconciled with the water.
However such a drastic move wasn't approved by gravity and I fell through the ice, just like so many polar explorers before me.
I take my hat off to them for their heroism, standing knee-deep in icy waters. It's going to be a long and wet trek home.
